Qatar bank statements to Excel — bilingual, in seconds

Built for QCB-licensed banks. NAPS POS, Q-Pay transfers, WPS salary credits, and Kahramaa utility lines extracted with original descriptors.

QARGCCBilingual

Qatar's banking sector is regulated by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB). Kashfbank handles statements from Qatar National Bank (QNB — the largest bank in the Middle East by assets), Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ), and Doha Bank. Statements are bilingual by default, with QAR as the base currency and English secondary descriptions on each transaction row.

NAPS, Q-Pay, and Qatar's payment rails

NAPS (the National ATM and POS Switch) is Qatar's dominant card network. POS transactions on a Qatari statement appear as 'NAPS POS' with the merchant name attached. Q-Pay wallet transfers appear as 'QPAY TRANSFER'. Apple Pay rides on NAPS but is labeled separately when the bank descriptor includes it. Kashfbank extracts each rail with its own descriptor, so the spreadsheet you get out can be filtered by payment method in one click.

Kahramaa (Qatar General Electricity and Water) bills, Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar telecom payments, and Mowasalat (Karwa) transit payments each carry their own label on the source PDF. We keep them as the bank issued them.

Salary, WPS, and the Qatar Labour ID descriptor

Qatar's Wage Protection System requires private-sector salary transfers by the last working day of each month. Statement entries appear as 'WPS CREDIT' with the employer's Labour Ministry registration ID attached. The descriptor is consistent enough that a 12-month salary trail can be filtered out of a converted Excel file in seconds — useful for residency permit renewals, mortgage applications, or family visa filings.

Government salaries from the Qatari public sector typically appear with a separate descriptor matching the issuing ministry. Both formats are extracted with their original labels.

No personal income tax, no VAT yet — what changes for your books

Qatar has no personal income tax, and 5% VAT — long planned as part of the GCC framework — has not yet been implemented as of 2025. That means a Qatari personal statement does not need VAT reconciliation in the same way a Saudi or UAE statement does. For Qatari-owned businesses, Zakat applies; foreign-owned entities pay 10% corporate tax.

Post-2022 World Cup, statement data from Qatari businesses shows continued infrastructure-related categories — construction materials, project services, equipment leasing — visible in the merchant descriptors. The converted CSV makes it straightforward to track which categories are growing or shrinking quarter over quarter.

What the Excel file contains

One row per transaction. Date in DD/MM/YYYY. Arabic description column, English description column, debit, credit, running balance, reference number — all in QAR with two decimal places. IBAN and account number lifted into the header. If the statement covers multiple accounts, each becomes a separate sheet.

  • Bilingual Arabic and English columns preserved
  • NAPS POS, Q-Pay, and Apple Pay rows kept distinct
  • WPS salary entries with Labour ID descriptor intact
  • Processed on EU servers, deleted after 24 hours

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Kashfbank work with QNB statements?

Yes. QNB issues text-layer PDF statements in Arabic and English. We extract both languages, keep the descriptors as printed, and produce a bilingual Excel file. Personal, salary, and corporate accounts are all supported.

What about Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) statements?

Yes. QIB statements use Islamic banking labels — Murabaha, Ijara, Wakala — which we preserve in the output. We do not relabel them with conventional terms.

Can I extract NAPS POS transactions separately from Apple Pay?

Yes. Each appears with the bank's own descriptor on the source PDF, and we keep them distinct in the output. You can filter NAPS POS, Q-Pay, and Apple Pay rows independently in Excel.

Does it handle QNB statements from outside Qatar — QNB Al Ahli Egypt, for example?

Yes, but they are treated as the local format. A QNB Al Ahli Egypt statement is read with Central Bank of Egypt conventions and EGP as the base currency. The QNB brand is shared; the regulatory and currency context is not.

Is the converted file usable for a Qatar residency permit renewal?

It gives you a clean, sortable record of your 12-month salary deposits and account activity. The Ministry of Interior still asks for original stamped statements from your bank; we do not replace that. We make the reconciliation work behind it much faster.

How accurate is the extraction on a bilingual QNB statement?

We match 98–99% of rows on standard QNB statements. Unusual entries — disputed transactions, fee adjustments, reversal pairs — may need a quick visual check against the source PDF. We tell you exactly which rows, if any, were uncertain.
